General
All paintings must be created within the City of Holladay boundaries between September 28th and October 7th. Before painting, all surfaces must be stamped at Relics (4685 S Holladay Blvd) during regular business hours beginning September 28th. Relics is open Monday – Friday 10-6, and Saturday 10-5.
Completed paintings must be submitted to Relics by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7th. All entries must be framed and ready to hang. Please consult with Relics ahead of time if you do not have appropriate framing and need to purchase a frame for your art.
Holladay boundaries are roughly between 3900 S and I-215 (north to south), and I-215 to Highland Drive (east to west) with a triangular extension from 4700 S going west to Van Winkle Expressway. See the map for more details.
Exhibit
Due to continuing instances of Covid-19, there will not be an opening reception.
There will be an exhibit at Relics from October 9th – 30th. All plein air paintings will be available for sale (unless specified as display only) through October 30th. Relics Gallery and Holladay Arts Council will retain a total of 30% of the sales.
Quick Draw paintings will be available thru blind bid silent auction in-person and online until Monday, October 11th at 6:00 pm.
Paintings will be judged on Friday, October 8th, and award ribbons will be placed on paintings before the exhibit opens. Checks will be mailed to the winners or you may arrange to pick them up from Relics.
Art Pickup
All art needs to be picked up from Relics between November 2nd and 4th, regular business hours.
Quick Draw
There will be a Quick Draw event on Saturday, October 9th from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Holladay Plaza. There is no additional charge to enter this event, and the first 15 artists who indicate they're interested on the registration form will be invited. Quick Draw paintings need to be delivered to Relics shortly after 1:00 pm so they will be ready for the blind bid silent auction. Your art needs to be framed and wired for the auction. The artist will receive 70% of the sale price, and Relics and the arts council will retain a total of 30%.
Masks are optional outside, but Relics reserves the right to require masks inside their business.
Quick Draw Auction - Images will be available on this page AFTER 3:00 pm Saturday.
Silent bids can be made at Relics Gallery or online Saturday, October 9 thru Monday, October 11 at 6:00 pm.
Judging
You may indicate on your registration form that you wish to have your work for display only (not judged or for sale). If you submit work as an amateur, professional, or student, however, your work will be judged by a panel of artists.
